Demetrio Rota is a waste collector in Buenos Aires who sleeps in the afternoons and assembles puzzles in the evenings before going to work. As he solves his puzzles he also fits together the pieces of his own memories. The present seems to devour Demetrio until it leaves only the emptiness of his shell and of his daily misery. A parable of memory and deterioration, Bariloche presents the confusion between astonishing memories of adolescence and a sceptical conscience, between the impossible idealisation of first love and the moral and physical asphyxiation of big cities.
